* With Minato's death, Konoha reinstates Third as an interim Hokage. Danzo recruits Kakashi to work under him along with another shinobi, who of all things can control a Wood Style justu. Hashirama sensei, the Leaf's first Hokage, was the only one who could freely use the Wood Style Ninjutsu. So, how did this guy come to know it? In a desperate battle to the Hokage throne, Danzo deceives Kakashi into thinking that Lord Hiruzen may have used cruel tricks to get back into the power. Kakashi was prevented by Lord Third from going into the battle with Nine Tails, where he could have saved Kushina and Minato. Could Danzo be right about this? And what about that boy of about 10 that guarded Danzo’s compound with Wood Style Jutsu? Kakashi wonders about all this as he ponders his future as Shinobi and ANBU fighter.Hoping that no one would see him, Kakashi went to the library, where he learned that Hashirama Senju, Leaf’s first Hokage, was the only one using Wood Style Ninjutsu. Lord Third found Kakashi there and explained that Hashirama brought peace and stability to the region. Hashirama died in death-match with Madara and Nine Tails and since then no-one was able to master this jutsu. Many had died trying in efforts to transplant Hashirama cell’s. The attempts to revive the Wood Style were countless, but unsuccessful, so the Feudal Lords deemed it ‘Forbidden’ and locked up the laboratories.
Third Hokage admitted to Kakashi however, that there were over 60 disappearances of late, including babies. Hiruzen suspected that someone may be conducting experiments trying to implant Hashirama’s cells. Had someone been able to use Wood Style Jutsu, Nine Tails would have most likely been handled and Minato’s and Kushina’s death would have been prevented.
“On the way to resume his Hokage post, Lord Hiruzen would be accompanied by five Anbu fighters”, Danzo explains to his Black Ops. “This must be prevented at all costs!”
Small army of Black Ops tracked down Hokage and his five Anbu fighters and attacked without hesitation. Small boy stood directly opposite of Sandaime. He signed Wood Style Jutsu and attacked, but Wooden spikes pierced a substitution of Hokage’s body. Another clone stood in the branches of a tree above. Clone changed to Kakashi and boy attacked him with Giant Forest Justu. Kakashi was ready for it and pinned the boy down with his Chidori. Knowing that Hidden Leaf needs Wood Style to fight future attacks of Beasts, he let the guy go. “One day the village will need you”, he said.Lord Third returned to his office, where he found Danzo sitting in his chair. Danzo obviously did’t expect the assassination to go wrong. Hokage offered leniancy in exchange for life-long servitude for Hidden Leaf, but Danzo, just shrugged it off and hissed “You are the light and I am the darkness”.
Danzo visits Orochimaru’s hideout to let him know that they were betrayed and that they would need to be more careful from now on. In the meantime, Lord Third voices concerns about Orochimaru leaving with Leaf’s biggest possession, the revived Wood Style Jutsu. The title of next Naruto episode is “The Rogue Ninja Orochimaru”. In the last seconds of Naruto Shippuden 352 preview we see Kakashi’s mask broken in two and Orochimaru saying “I like the look in your eye”.
