In order to weaken the two brothers, Kabuto kept analysing, wedging doubt and misplaced emotions between Sasuke and Itachi. In Kabuto’s words, Sasuke left Konoha to join Akatsuki in order to lay vengeance on the village which dishonoured his clan and caused so much pain to Itachi. Finding his older brother reincarnated after all this time, Sasuke decided to follow him to Kabuto’s hideout to find out the truth once and for all. Itachi killed off his family to protect Hidden Leaf village, while Sasuke joined the most savage group in pursuit of levelling the Hidden Leaf with the ground.Turning to Sasuke, Kabuto added, “Now is the time to stab Itachi in the back and join me! Itachi is dead already.” Sasuke hissed back, “Leaf’s destruction is my alone and no one else!” Unrelenting, Kabuto tries again, “What Itachi did to your family made you into who you are today” and “I will be your big brother and stick by your side”.
Kabuto continued, “Itachi and I worked for the good of the Leaf village, but all we got in return was dishonour and disgrace”.
For the first time Itachi spoke up. “No matter what dark contradictions lie within Konoha, I am still Itachi Uchiha of the Leaf!” With that he asked his brother to trust him and take care of Kabuto. As long as he is using the Reanimation Jutsu, they cannot kill him.
They must rely on the true power of the Uchiha, the Visual Jutsu that can be used without eyesight in exchange for losing the light in one’s eyes. Sasuke remembered the Izanagi Danzo used against Sasuke in Naruto Shippuden episode 209. Itachi had the other part of Izanagi in mind. It’s called Izanami, it’s Ultimate Forbidden Jutsu, but before he had a chance to explain it to Sasuke, Kabuto attacked.Deflecting Kabuto in mid air, Itachi returned to Sasuke to explain how Izanami works, “If Izanagi is a jutsu that changes one’s fate, then Izanami is a just that decides it!”
Kabuto called Sage Art the Inorganic Animation. Huge cones dropped from the ceiling of this hideout instantly and pierced Itachi’s body through and through. Kabuto used this jutsu to bring Itachi back to life so to control him once again. Hot limestone cones receded into the ceiling and Sasuke signed Amaterasu to create a division between them and Kabuto.Itachi, being reanimated, cannot die and closing his wounds addressed Kabuto. “I hate you, but I understand you. We both lived fake lives but to know yourself isn’t to become perfect, but to know what you can and cannot do.” Itachi then admitted to lie to everyone and to himself. To never care about his comrades and to never acknowledge himself. To survive is to have friends and that is why Kabuto could never succeed.
