Against Jinbe’s advice of hiding the body, Hody, does the opposite and show that a human assassinated Otohime. King Neptune also locks himself up in his Hard Shell tower along with his ministers, and comments he himself would’ve killed the shooter, whether Otohime agrees with it or not. He explains the cycle of hatred and revenge to his ministers. He is torn between avenging her or doing what she wishes. He recalls that as a soldier he would avenge the lives of lost comrades and that his inability to help Otohime was because of the past.

On the day of the funeral he learns from Shirahosi that Vander Decken IX wants her hand in marriage which infuriates Neptune because she was only 6 years old. He then forbids his children at the funeral just in case Vander Decken IX would be there. All the people on Fishman Island attend the Queens funeral while Fukaboshi announces on a video screen that he and his brothers will fulfill they’re mothers dream.
At the end of our flashback, Jinbe asks Nami to forgive him for letting Arling escape and causing her pain. He volunteers to accept any punishment she wishes. Nami explains though that she is only resentful towards Arlong and not other fishman and that she is happy, which makes Jinbe and Hachi guilty and begging her forgiveness. Hachi continues on and explains Hody’s hatred for humans.
He says how this is the year of the World Summit and that Neptune was going to tell the news of human expansion in the world and declare that Hody will take his place. Before Hachi can finish a Den Den Mushi appears and Hody makes an announcement of the impending New Fishman Pirates takeover of the whole island.
