Next Naruto episode will show how Itachi entered the Anbu fighters joining Kakashi and Tenzo. Both his father Fugaku and Danzo would like to see Itachi serve as double agent reporting on Leaf's intel. The title of Naruto Shippuden 357 is “An Uchiha ANBU”. Not much is apparent from the short preview, but when Itachi got accepted into Anbu, he said “Sooner or later, someone will show up”. What do you think he meant? Itachi, at the age of eleven, is accepted into Anbu forces as the youngest member ever. The Anbu members are wary about this kid joining the ranks and decide to test him out, but Kakashi put a stop to that right away. If Danzo seems to think that this kid is ready for Anbu, then Itachi must be ready.Later that night Itachi was reminded by his father Fugaku of loyalties to his own Uchiha clan. Uchiha clan has been entrusted with security of the village, so it makes sense to have Uchiha among the ranks of the most trusted security agency, the Anbu Black Ops.
Danzo recruited Itachi Uchiha as his own pupil, his eyes and ears of Foundation among the village’s Anbu forces. Realising that Danzo recruited Itachi for Leaf, the Third Hokage decided to not fully trust the young Uchiha and deploy an unofficial mission with Kakashi joining the Foundation under Danzo. Kakashi joined by Itachi will gather intelligence and share it with Hannya Black Ops of the neighbouring Land of Woods.There is to be a scroll exchange and as Hokage put it, this will be a test of trust. If Woods fail and send a fake scroll, Leaf will not create a peaceful alliance with them. Kakashi, speaking with Itachi, realises that Guy and the rest of the Shinobi on this mission were given these false directives.
Guy handed over the scroll to Hannya Black Ops. After verification they too handed over their scroll, but Guy sensed there was something wrong and he kicked the scroll away. It exploded in mid air. Hannya Black Ops jumped away and pretended that it was Leaf’s Shinobi, who attacked first.
Kakashi and Itachi spotted the betrayal and jumped in between Guy and the enemy squad. Hannya Ops signed Earth Style Jutsu and huge boulders started rolling down the hill towards the Leaf but Kakashi’s mud wall stopped them cold. New wave of boulders rushed from top when Guy called for Fifth Gate of Closing and jumped through these rocks all the way to the enemy. Kakashi and Itachi followed closely and soon all enemies were dead.Guy visits the Hokage to plea with him about joining the Anbu forces only to get closer to his lifelong rival Kakashi. After Hiruzen turns him down, Guy talks to Danzo about acceptance into the Anbu in Foundation. He was again rejected for reasons of insufficient darkness. Later at the headquarters Kakashi talked to Tenzo and admitted to him that he isn’t all that comfortable with the darkness that’s so prevailing in the Anbu.
Itachi, reporting to his father and the entire Uchiha clan, noted that there isn’t much solidarity among the Leaf’s higher ranks. He also agreed that Uchiha clan should have a say in the future of the Leaf. When he was finished he sat down and noticed a stone plague leaning against a wall. Surprised, almost shocked he said “That is…”
Itachi is taken on another mission with his senpai Kakashi, who explains an incident six years ago with Leaf’s first Hokage and the Nine Tails. This is when Naruto was born and Nine Tails chakra sealed inside Naruto’s little body. Since then, there has been a 24 hour surveillance on Uchiha district as the clan was suspected with orchestrating the events. The title of next Naruto Shippuden 358 airing today is “Coup d’Etat”.
