Kakashi figures out how to beat the masked man - Review of Naruto Shippuden 342.

Naruto will have to attack before Ten Tails is revived. The best way to attack the all-powerful is in close combat, searching for openings when it is materialised and vulnerable. Naruto may have a trick or two still up his sleeves, but Tobi is ready to defend its Gedo, which is now comprising its nine tails chakra to deliver the Ten Tails. The clones have worked wonders in past and Naruto may find them useful one more time. The title of next Naruto episode is “The Secret of the Transportation Technique”. Naruto recalls Mom, Dad, and Pervy Sage and understands why he can keep going without hesitation. He swears to be the best Hokage Hidden Leaf has ever had. “That’s my dream”, Naruto says as he attacks the Gedo statue with his Rasengan. Tobi reacts quickly and throws his weapon upwards to shield the Gedo. Naruto’s attack gets stopped cold. Naruto jumped back a bit a said coolly, “I guess cracking your mask will have to come first.”

 

“You will not touch the statue”, said Tobi as he protected the Gedo statue already transforming into the Ten Tails. Naruto produced a clone and Kakashi advised him to attack when Tobi is about to suck him in his mask. That’s when he is solid and vulnerable. Kakashi then asked Nine Tails to raise him up high, so to get a better position. From there he changed his left eye into Mangekyo Sharingan to infuse enough chakra, while Guy started up his Twin Fangs.

 

Naruto’s clone weaved a Super Mini Tailed Beast Bomb and Naruto got ready to attack again. Tobi made up his mind on a last second. He chose the first Naruto’s clone and blocked him. Next Tobi has his left arm deep inside Naruto’s head, while Guy’s nunchaku passes right through Tobi’s head. Guy then followed up face to face hitting Tobi left and right. Naruto attacked with his Tailed Beast Bomb, while Kakashi went for the statue. The statue however vanished, leaving just boulders of rock flying about.

 

Naruto and Tobi are still at it, but Naruto seems to do more defending then attacking now. Tobi had Naruto wrapped for another attack when Kakashi broke through a stone wall with his Lightning Blade and went straight through Tobi’s head. Naruto’s attacks didn’t reach Tobi, but all notice a small crack in his mask. This is a good sign. Something sharp, perhaps that lightning kunai has grazed Tobi’s mask.

 

Eight Tails lead by Killer Bee took advantage of Tobi being preoccupied with Kakashi and Naruto. Eight Tails launched at Gedo statue. Tobi had his priorities straight as he produced Uchiha Flame Formation. Right hand of Eight Tails is put on fire and Guy realised that Gedo needed to be set aside to deal with Tobi first.

 

Kakashi had never heard of Kamui being stopped, but Kakashi does think it’s plausible. The time to attack Tobi is when he is sucking stuff in. That’s the only time he materialises. Kakashi asks his friends to assist him in testing a theory. Eight Tails throws Guy, Kakashi and Naruto towards Tobi. Guy attacks first trying to provoke Tobi into sucking his nunchuks. So far so good, Tobi starts sucking the nunchuks in when Naruto jumps from behind Guy's back with his Rasengan.

 

Kakashi’s plan was to use Kamui to send Naruto’s Rasengan away the same time that Tobi was sucking Guy’s nunchuks in. The theory worked and Kakashi confirmed that there are two justu’s used by Tobi, at the same time. It was believed that one jutsu was used to suck things in or out and other jutsu to allow Tobi to pass through things. It’s in fact only one jutsu. The jutsu Tobi uses to absorb things and pass through objects is the Transportation Technique.

 

Kakashi’s kunai in the previous attack and now Naruto’s Rasengan both caused damage to Tobi in areas of his body that were overlapping. Also these transported things confirmed that Tobi’s Transportation Technique functions in the same time-space as Kakashi’s Kamui.

 

Is visual jutsu linked with Kakashi’s ocular prowess? How can this be? Kakashi explains. Only a part of Tobi’s body, the one that is under attack at a time, is being transported into a different time-space capsule. Kakashi’s kunai however was sent to the same time-space capsule, because their ocular prowesses are linked. In the second attack Kakashi used his Kamui to push Naruto’s Rasengan to the same time-space capsule where Tobi had moved his endangered self to protect himself against the attack. That is why Naruto’s Rasengan was able to hurt Tobi, albeit only slightly.

 

“Why are your visual prowess linked Kakashi? Where did you get it?”, asked Guy Kakashi, but Tobi answered. “The Battle of Kannabi Bridge” Tobi recalls how Kakashi gained his nickname “the Sharingan Hero”. Facing Kakashi now, Tobi keeps going about the cruelty of this world and the necessity of his Infinite Tsukuyomi to bring this world into what he refers to as dream.
