As we know Fishman Pirates are out to destroy Ryugu Kingdom and queen Otohime's voyage was to determine the future of Fishman Island and perhaps reconcile their relationsip with humans by calmin down Celestial Dragons. Otohime wants to relocate to the world above to live with humans. Far fetched idea right? Well fishman sign the petition in agreement. Not everyone is pleased however and tragic thing happens. They’re failure to obtain the Tamatebako, forces Decken to wait, until Shirahoshi is a little bit older. Meanwhile, Otohime returns and tells the people that the World Nobles possess a lot of influence in the world. She returned with their signatures, and the citizens reciprocate by also giving their signatures for her cause. She calls for a celebration together with her husband and children.
At the castle, Otohime then tells her sons about Shirahoshi’s power to summon the Sea Kings. She also explains to them that mermaids can communicate with fish, and that according to legend a Mermaid Princess can communicate with the Sea Kings. She also gives a cautionary tale how this power can be used both for good and evil. Otohime also explains that Shirahoshi actually has no idea about this power and fears that if one day she loses control of her emotions, she might eventually destroy the island. Otohime’s sons promise to become great warriors to protect their sister.

Alladin and Jinbe order the soldiers to find the assassin and take care of her children. Fukaboshi’s children rush over to her. While Shirahoshi is stunned by the whole incident, Decken appears and marks her with Mato Mato no Mi powers and immediately leaves.
While at Otohime’s side, Fukaboshi swears vengeance on the assassin, but Otohime requests everyone not to hate the assassin, so that the hatred does not spread throughout the island. She explained that she let her guard down because of her happiness. Shirahoshi starts to lose control of herself, making her two brothers sing and dance to steady her, at the same time saying that they will always protect her. Before Otohime dies, Fukaboshi promises his mother that she will do her best to continue her dream. Otohime touches pinky fingers with her children before she dies.
